Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar
Bagac, Bataan
Beautiful place.
Though, I think it was Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar that was embroiled in that whole issue with the Teodora Alonso (the mother of Jose Rizal) ancestral home in Laguna.
They were attempting to acquire the 200 year old home to bring it to the resort and I think the city had to step in to buy it instead and keep it in Binan.
Which of course raises the interesting question: Is the cultural value of a structure linked to its location? In other words, if you remove the house from its original location is the home and the location poorer for it?
Or, if the end goal is to preserve the structure, does it really matter where it’s located?
Hmmmmmmm…
