1. This Kony stuff is typical Western interventionism. Kony is not a ‘cause’, he’s a side-effect of whatever deep-rooted, social, and economic issues are plaguing Uganda. While it may feel good and all (and probably correct) to remove him from his sphere of influence, unless the issues that allowed him to aggregate power are addressed there will be another Kony to take his place.

    If we want to eliminate Kony and the opportunity for any one like him to flourish again there has to be more to this endeavor than just coming in and taking him out.
